By combining the finite element numerical simulation method with shaking table model test, this paper studies on the seismic response of three kinds of base swing isolation pier. By comparing the results of shaking table test and finite element numerical simulation results, summarizing the seismic response variation of three kinds of base isolation pier and verifying the correctness of the numerical calculation model have the positive practical significance to the promotion of the base isolation technique in bridge seismic application. The main research contents of this paper are as follows:(1) The research status of the base isolation technology at home and abroad was introduced from the theoretical study, the shaking table test and practical application three aspects, and the design and calculation method of the base isolation pier was expounded, and the mechanical properties of typical seismic isolation device and commonly seismic isolation analysis method used by bridge was sumed up.(2)Based on the dynamic model test of structure similarity principle, taking the mixed 24 m simply supported T beam bridge rectangular pier of design speed of 160km/h as the prototype, three groups of Basal swing isolation pier model for similar ratio 1:40 are designed, which represent liberty rocking base isolation pier, base isolation pier of reinforcement and uplift along the both sides of pier bottom, base isolation pier of the center is provided with the prestressed anti roll bar.(3) Through the model of the shaking table test research, three model are studied the acceleration, displacement and stress response of different peak ground acceleration, different types of seismic waves and different axial compression ratio, and the data were compared and analyzed.(4) Through contrast and analysis three kinds of model seismic response, the influenced of seismic peak acceleration, the type of seismic wave and the axial compression ratio to three kinds of base isolation pier seismic response are researched. Through comparing Seismic response of model, the influenced of limiting energy dissipation devices to model bridge pier swing reaction mechanism and energy dissipation is researched. Based on the summary of the variation of base isolation pier seismic response, the advantages and disadvantages of three kinds of structure are evaluated.(5) The numerical calculation model of basal swing isolation pier with considering the lift off effect, collision effect, prestress effect and limit effect simulated the seismic response of three models. Analysis of the results of shaking table test and finite element numerical simulation results indicate that the numerical model can be well simulated the earthquake response of base isolation pier swing, and the variation rule of the seismic response is consistent with the experimental values, and the numerical model is verified correct.
