The railway transportation of China is turning to a new generation unceasingly. Especially after entering the 21 st century, in the strong support of the government, every place is constructing high-speed rail, light rail, subway and other rail traffic. Of course, the electric locomotive that plays a major role in this process is also facing upgrade. In some parts of the original is no longer able to meet the requirements. As one of the important parts of locomotive, the locomotive wiper and its related components in the process of high speed and fast travel of the excessive phase, is also facing upgrade or modification. Because the speed further promotes, the wind resistance that the wiper faces in the process of the locomotive running also further enlarges, and its requests of controllers and other matching facilities also further enhance.In this thesis, the power source designed for the locomotive wiper has high research value and significance, and plays an important role for the improved wiper and its control system in locomotive rain. In addition, the current common motor in the wiper uses DC110 V 100W motor, which belongs to the special use motor, and has high cost. And the DC48 V 200W switching power supply that greatly reduces the production cost and is applicable to 48 V motor, is designed in this paper. Moreover, the locomotive wiper is the important object to repair and maintenance, the power supply designed can greatly reduces the repair cost and the difficulty of the work, and also improves the safety performance.Based on the overall design, the thesis is analyzed the operating principle of circuit topology structure in detail. By Saber simulation software system, the open loop and closed loop system are simulated to verify the feasibility of system design, and to guide the design of hardware circuit. Based on design for the main parameters, the various parameters of prototype achieve to the optimal through the detailed theoretical analysis and parameters calculation for the core components. This paper gives a detailed introduction to the PWM output control chip. Using the Altium Designer Winter 09 software, the hardware circuits are designed, and the single panel PCB is made and welded. Then the debugging of prototype is carried on and the experimental data and waveform are analyzed. From the experimental results, we can find that the performance of the prototype meets the design requirements.Combination of the above work, the power source application to the locomotive wiper based on UC3846 that is designed in this thesis has achieved the anticipated effect, and has the profound market application prospect. But the prototype is merely tests, and its many aspects need to consummate. So that the production is truly applied to the market is still a long way to go, also the prototype has much room to improve its performance.
