Automobile power steering gear is one of the most important parts of modern cars,which is also the core part of automotive steering system. Driver can make the car turn easily by automobile power steering gear, which is pervasive in the modern car. The automotive power steering gear units must be taken the performance test after they are integrated assembly and then left the factory. The power steering is filled whit hydraulic oil after the performance test. Generally speaking, those residual hydraulic oil should be recycled to cost savings and avoid wasting. But as automobile power steering gear’s internal flow channel is very complicated and the residual hydraulic oil cannot be eliminated completely. So the residual hydraulic oil will bring huge unnecessary waste to enterprises,and residual hydraulic oil once leak will bring environmental pollution.So developing a convenient and efficient pumping unit become a kind of actual production needs, and it is also the basic requirement of energy conservation and environmental protection.By disassembling automotive power steering gear to understand its internal structure, the actual oil way,and the working principle.According to the 3411010-A50A type automotive power steering gear’s actual internal flow channel, shape and size, Using Solidworks software to create Internal flow’s 3D model of automotive power steering gear,and importing the 3D model into the Ansys software. Meshing the 3D model, according to the actual experimental conditions to set The boundary conditions of model, Finally, got the analysis results of gas-liquid two-phase flow in the automotive power steering gear. Through the analysis of the final results, can provide theoretical basis for the subsequent experiment scheme to some extent.On the basis of theoretical analysis, oil discharge experiment was carried out. First of all, on the basis of the early theoretical analysis and the result of simulation, choosing the experimental parameters for first trial, to explore the result of the discharge of oil. According to the results of initial test select four main factors that power steering gear’s inlet pressure,time for filling air, oil discharge time, turnover time that affect the results,and optimizing experiment scheme by the method of orthogonal experiment to get the optimal experiment scheme. According to the optimized solution to do the experiment many times to get average value which is the optimal experimental results. To regulate and control the time of four parameters by Programmable Logic Controller, and the steering gear oil discharge machine is developed which applies gas discharge of oil methods,thus the efficiency of manufacturers that produce automotive power steering gear is improved to a great extent, increasing the enterprise’s benefit, realizing the energy conservation and emissions reduction to a certain extent as well.
