| In recent years, the national economy grows at full speed, and scientific technology especially electronic technology develops rapidly. Due to these objective factors, many new kinds of meter reading systems come into being. Compared with traditional ways of meter reading, new kinds of meter reading systems are time-saving, labor-saving and efficiency. They are the first choice of meter reading systems for modern smart department. Based on practical applications, the key technology of a new type meter reading system, the wireless remote meter reading system, is studied in this thesis.The main works are as follows.Firstly, the history and development of some automated meter reading systems are introduced, on the basis of which the concept of wireless remote meter reading system for gas meter is proposed. According to different environments, two different types of meter reading systems for gas meter are presented. They are two-way wireless gas meter program and the wireless acquisition program. Based on the knowledge of microcontroller STC89C52 and wireless transceiver chip CC1101, a wireless transceiver module is designed, which can be used in the communication between gas meter and hand held terminal, gas meter and wireless acquisition, wireless acquisition and hand held terminal. The module can meet all the demands of communication between different data terminals.Secondly, the basic knowledge of antenna, electrically small antenna, and impedance matching is introduced, on the basis of which two different kinds of antennas, inverted-F helix antenna and door-shaped electrically small antenna, are designed for the wireless remote meter reading system of gas meter. Both of the antennas are small, and they can be put into the small space of the gas meter case. At the same time, both of the antennas is connected to the ground, which can prevent the creating of static electricity, and static electricity is a great safety threat to gas meters. Both simulation and measurement indicate that these two antennas can satisfy the communication requirement in the wireless remote meter reading system.The wireless remote meter reading system presented in this thesis has the advantage of simple network, no need to apply for the right to use frequency band and less investment. The system can largely meet people’s demand for new type meter reading systems. |
