As a clean energy, Lead-acid battery has been widely used in the areas of national economic development, and high performance lead-acid battery has the advantages in high energy, big power, long life and so on. The use of clean energy strategy is of great significance in our country’s energy conservation and emissions reduction as well as environmental protection. Therefore, designing and developing this kind of battery is makes a great difference in the society.However, lead-acid battery still has some deficiencies at present, for instance, the small specific energy(energy storage of unit weight), high weight, strong corrosion to the environment, short service life cycle, high self-discharge and not easy to over discharge. These issues greatly restrict the development of lead-acid batteries industry.Aiming at some problems of the existing technology, improve structure process for Lead-acid battery and performance study. Based on the theory of the original battery, the design breaks the existing model of the lead-acid batteries through the optimization design of the battery structure. The structure of the lead-acid battery model uses the shell and a group of division of labor to make up for the existing battery curve. Meanwhile with reduced plate thickness to improvement the utilization of the active material. This product will be made up for the defects of its own existing in part of the lead-acid battery at present, improve the functional properties of lead-acid battery. With simple structure, easy production, low manufacturing cost, this battery is fully able to meet the demand in the market now.In this research, the industrial processing of designed battery accessories, the assembly of battery and the finished product inspection are all based on the existing equipment in the current battery industry. Due to the limitation of equipment, some performance of battery accessories cannot meet the required index of this research.As a result, improved lead-acid can indeed improve. However, it indicates that the design direction is correct. With the improving of the future manufacturing process, the performance of this designed lead-acid battery in this research will also be improved.
