Protection And Management Of Plant Landscape From The Perspective Of World Heritage

World heritage is the common wealth of human. Plant landscape resources of world heritageinclude important heritage value, in accordance with the standards of outstanding universal value,authenticity and integrity. Besides, for plant heritage resources have the characteristics of dynamic andvariability, the protection and management of plant landscape resources of heritage sites are special.According to different types and features of heritage sites, the proportion of the value of plant landscaperesources in heritage value is different. At present, researches on protection and management of plantlandscape is not enough, and the breadth and depth of researches are limited. Perfect, scientific andprofessional systems of the protection and management on plant landscape resources have not formed athome and abroad.The article summarizes the classification of plant landscape of world heritage and part worldheritage lists whose plant landscape resources are outstanding. Also it combines the cognition of plantlandscape with concept of world heritage to establish foundations of cognitive theory. Then through thecontrast research at home and abroad, this article comprehensively analyses and interprets the protectionand management on plant landscape of world heritage from several aspects, which include organizationsof heritage protection and management, related documents and regulations, related institutional systems,digitalization construction of heritage, heritage tourism, heritage education, heritage propaganda and soon. Besides, this article chooses Kew Garden, ILM park of Classical Weimar, Classical Gardens ofSuzhou, Summer Palace, Chengde Mountain Resort as representative cases to analyze and contrast,which proves that plant landscape of different world heritages have different features. Differences oneconomic, society, culture and other aspects at home and abroad bring about differences of protectionand management mechanisms. Our country should merge cultural characteristics of Oriental Gardenaccording to own situation, to form sustainable protection and management system which fits owndevelopment.Ornamental planting is one of the six core elements of Hangzhou West Lake Cultural Landscape,and plays an important role. Taking Hangzhou West Lake Cultural Landscape as an example, this articledefines the plant landscape resources of West Lake, interprets its heritage value and summarizes thecurrent situation of protection and management to emphasize the heritage value of plant landscaperesources and analysis its advantages and disadvantages of protection and management. At the sametime, Hangzhou West Lake Cultural Landscape is a successful case whose protection and managementof plant landscape are excellent and is a good example for practical purpose. But it still needs toimprove.Finally, on the basis of the previous research, it puts forwards some construction ideas aboutprotection and management of plant landscape of world heritage, and indicates that construction ofprotection and management mechanisms could be more systematic, professional and detailed.This article combines concept of world heritage with plant landscape theory, and puts forward some ideas about construction of plant landscape protection and management system of world heritagesites including classified maintenance of plant landscape, expert team building, special maintenanceplan of plant landscape planning, etc. The two points are perspective and innovative.
