Electric Vehicles have a broad development prospects because of the zero emission andpollution-free characteristics in today’s energy crisis and environmental polluted situations. Asthe core of electric vehicle drive system,motor’s drive technology had been a key technologyof electric vehicles. Motor control level directly affects the overall performance of electriccars,so the motor drive technology has become the electric car research hot spot.Permanent magnet synchronous motor (PMSM) can be used as electric vehicle drivemotor for its superior characteristics.The paper analyzed the mathematical model of PMSMrunning characteristics and its control strategy. According to the mathematical model ofPMSM,the paper designed the motor controller,built the permanent magnet synchronousmotor speed-current double-closed-loop control system in the Matlab/Simulink softwareplatform. The system adopted the vector control strategy and SVPWM algorithm, whosesimulation results proved that PMSM vector control system has good dynamic and staticperformances.On the basis of the theoretical simulation and the control requirements of electric vehicledrive system,the motor control system used TMS320F2812as the motor controller. Thesystem adopts the modular design method,which included control module, drive circuit andmain circuit, signal modulation circuit, communication circuit and protection circuit and soon.The design wrote motor control program in the DSP compile software,CCS,completed therelated sub-functions such as SVPWM, PID, coordinate transformation, etc. The design alsocompleted the software design based on the speed-current double-closed-loop vector controlstrategy and debugged to verify the performance of each functional module of the system inDSP.
