Variable flow hydraulic system with the advantage of energy-saving and highcontrol precision is used more and more widely in HVAC. In variable flow hydraulicsystem, flow varies with loads changing, which places greater demands on hydraulicbalance. When adjusting hydraulic system, we need to specify the dynamic flowcharacteristic of flow control device at all ranges.Currently, flow control device applies point measure method in testing flowcharacteristic based on limited discrete value. However, the method can’t reflect thedynamic flow characteristic, which wastes both time and labor. Especially when testingflow characteristic with some new type of flow control device, like the dynamic flowvalve containing key point, simple point measure method can’t accurately locate theinflexion and determine the range of operating pressure differential.By applying virtual instrument technology and variable-speed-pump technology,this paper fulfills the function of dynamic flow characteristic test and builds amulti-function test bench for fluid dynamic flow characteristic. The test bench iscomposed of three parts. Firstly, the test line system is developed. By forming acontrollable flow, the design of pipeline establishes the essential conditions for accurateevaluation. Secondly, the test system is designed to gather, convert and transmit data.Thirdly, the software system is designed. By establishing a good human-computerinterface, the software system fulfills the remote control of experimental platform,which can be used for data sampling, processing, display and storage. experiment iscarried out on dynamic flow characteristic combined with multi-functional test benchand corresponding analysis is performed,we make new test methods and analysismethods.The test bench in this paper fulfills the function of continuous measurement andreal time monitoring in the full range of fluid dynamic characteristic. In addition, itmakes it possible to automatically collect data, process data and save data. With featureslike easily being debugged, the instrument accelerates the measuring process, improvesthe measurement accuracy and reduces the experiment cost. Apart from that, it also hasa high degree of automation and informatization.
