The Industrial Heritage Studies In Changchun Area (from1949to1976)

The industrial heritage is an important part of the world cultural heritage. It waswitnessed the city’s industrial development.To study protection give our attentionabroad. Both Europe and the United States in theory and practice conducted in-depthinquiry and there had many successful cases. Such as Germany Dortmund PhoenixIndustrial Zone space transformation; The revival project in Nantes’s Island ofFrance; the American Ghirardelli Square in San Francisco and so on. In recent years,the protection gave our country, and began to focus on the industrial heritage.So aseries of explorations and practices were appeared. Such as the798Factory inBeijing, the Suzhou Road’s old warehouses in Shanghai,the Eastern Music Park inChengdu and so on.After several decades of development, Changchun area one of which is that theold northeast industrial base was growing on urban size, and the urban constructionland is very tight. Some operating companies moved to new suitable urban areas fordevelopment. Others are bankrupt. Such a large number of industrial site was idle.At first, people did not know their valus. Some factories were idle and somemachine. The phenomenon was dilapidated considered a sign of urban recession.Because of massive reestablishment, a lot of industrial heritage was not exist.Thecity lose urban culture. People did not communicate with traces from urbandevelopment process.This dissertation is a systematic survey on the background of Changchun area’shistorical development process. By consulted the local history and documents andfield investigation,I had combed Changchun area’s industrial development from1949to1976, especially the first five-year plan and secend five-year plan. Analyseof the Changchun’s industrial heritage situation. According to the status quo, I cameup with recommendation for protecting Changchun area’s industrial heritage.They are relics industrial heritage class, protecting industrial heritage class, andtransforming industrial heritage class.Combined with the six Changchun’s HistoricDistrict,I made different different levels of protection for differentclasses.Madeconservation industrial heritage into urban planning and development.
