With the development of economy and improvement of consumption level, the car has become the important transport tool of people.Because the basic functions of the car has been basically matured,which makes the exterior design is particularly important.There is a misunderstanding between designer and consumer,How to identify consumer’s Kansei preference property and conformity this property into cars are still a big problem for designers.Therefore, how to design cars that meet consumers’ demand is a common problem for all the car manufacturers.Starting from the above problems, the main research contents of this thesis are as follows:(1) Using eye tracking technology to get the important car form features.(2) Defining relevent design variables of side elevation feature lines,extracting the discrete variables of the face,protracting the pictres with3ds Max software.(3) Collecting and screening the Kansei appraisal words, establishing an appraisal scale for car form.(4) Establishing the relationship model between consumers’ Kansei preference and Kansei appraisal words.(5) Establishing model between Kansei preference and design variables,establishing model between aero dynamics and design variables,converting the two goals into one goal:the relation between total preference and design variables.(6) Optimizing the model between total preference and design variables with genetic algrithm,finding the best solutions of the goal.The results of this thesis can indicate designers how to design consumer-oriented products and have a certain significance.
