Design And Implementation Of Mobile VMS Dynamic Navigation Function

Public transport information is an important part of the Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS). Dynamic traffic information service based on GPS positioning, in the service of travel navigation has become hotspot in the field of intelligent transportation of china. Variable message signs (VMS, Variabe Message Signs) system is an important part of dynamic traffic information release system in the ITS system, through the issuance of real-time traffic information, to guide the vehicle to choose the most reasonable path and balance network traffic flow, and play an important role to the management of traffic congestion. With the level of travel demand for traffic information enhances unceasingly, the traveler hope to learn more traffic information by VMS. The traditional VMS existence insufficiency for providing personalized traffic information service. Therefore, how to combine the GPS location provides more personalized dynamic traffic information service, making VMS play a full part in induced action is the problems need to be solved currently.The thesis raises a Mobile VMS software based on the technology of Wireless Network/GPS/TTS and Baidu Maps API, by using the embedded Android operating system as mobile client, detailed designs and realizes all the function modules of the whole system software. Before the trip, user can use the VMS software to obtain a roughly understanding of the entire road network traffic conditions, by viewing the real-time traffic map. When going out, user can use the Android client to obtain the latitude and longitude of the user’s current location in real time by GPS or Wireless communication network, and the client send these information and destination to the servers. The servers firstly analysis the navigation route path of the client according to the received information, and then detect whether there is a sudden traffic on the route of the road, finally give the qualified traffic information back to the cell phone client. The software will be monitoring Client in real-time if there is a new traffic information received, the new received traffic information will be provided to the user in the form of text and voice broadcast.Mobile VMS software solves the problem of the traditional VMS location setting, greatly reduces the costs of construction, provides personalized traffic information service.The user can be timely and accurately informed of the front traffic information to avoid congestion sections and reduce times of congestion encountered. To a certain extent, Mobile VMS achieves a dynamic boot function of the traffic flow, and has an important significance to ease traffic congestion.
