Taxi System Design And Implementationbased On Baidu Maps API

With the improvement of people’s living standards and the ever-accelerating pace of life, Taxis become one of the main means of transport. Now many cities have emerged in a taxi difficult problem, especially in the rush hour or rainy days. On the other hand, taxi idling or only one or two passengers on board is a common phenomenon, which greatly reduces the transportation efficiency of the taxi. It is not only a waste of resources but also affect traffic congestion and air pollution. To improve Taxi operational efficiency can effectively alleviate the traffic pressure and reduce vehicle exhaust impact on the environment.The rapid development of mobile communication networks and the rapid spread of3 G, 4G network makes the mobile phone users amount increases rapidly. As a communication tool, mobile phone has become a necessity of life. Get all kinds of basic necessities by mobile message has become a trend, Mobile maps will become a important entrance for living information services.Android, because of its platform’s openness and system’s open-source, stand out in so many mobile devices operating system and occur a very large market share.In order to better use network resources and high-performance mobile devices, to solve the taxi problem, we use Baidu Maps API developed a taxi cab software was which is based on the Android operating system. This system consists of vehicle-mounted terminal, passenger terminal and three UDP server section. This article discussed in detail on system development difficulties: map matching, clients communicate with the background, path planning and analysis functions, etc.This article gives the final realization of the taxi system functional modules. Car terminal provide mapping services for the driver, passenger information search, and call to passenger and metered billing etc.Passenger terminal provide vehicle information search according passenger’s need and call drivers etc.System passenger terminal also has the function of count fees.UDP server mainly use to handle requests for different terminals.
