Research On The Key Technology In The Development Of Handling And Stability Of An SUV

With the popularization of vehicles, people on the vehicle performancerequest moreand more high, the good power performance and fuel economy at the same time, moreand more people are required to obtain good handling and stability. Vehicle handlingand stability is directly related to the safety of automobile and its occupant, which hasan important effect on vehicle performance.Many research of vehicle handling and stability at home and abroad, but so far thereis no unified handling and stability evaluation system. Based on the evaluation systemfor handling and stability studies, based on the total variance method and reductionInvensys method, according to “Limits on Vehicle Handling and Stability Indicators andEvaluation Methods QC/T480–1999”, a new SUV vehicle handling and stabilitycomprehensive evaluation method was proposed, the researchway of handling stabilityevaluation system was broaden, which has a practical reference value.This paper was based on the multi-body system dynamics theory. With theapplication of simulation software ADAMS/Car, the SUV vehicle model wasestablished, and the spectral information by editing the driver and the road, according tothe national standard “Handling and Stability Test Methods GB/T6323-1994”, thedriver-vehicle-road closed-loop simulation of SUV was conducted. Meanwhile, inorder to obtain more comprehensive data to make more scientifically rigorous study,according to the national standard “Handling and Stability Test Methods GB/T6323-1994”, a lot of real vehicle tests of the SUV was conducted.By comparing and evaluating analysis the results of simulation and real vehicle testresults, the SUV with excellent handling and stability overall performance wasconcluded, and the new SUV vehicle handling and stability evaluation method is moretruly reflect the SUV vehicle handling and stability actual situation than the nationalstandard. This paper provided for the subsequent development of a practical reference,had a strong practical value for the SUV driving stability, provided an important way tothe development of the standard.
