With the rapid development of modern manufacturing industry and the improvement of people’s living standards, the diverse needs of personalized products and services get more and more urgent, the traditional way of mass production has been unable to meet market demand. Enterprises need to change existing manufacturing model. Efficient mode of mass production and integration of customized production to mass customization is to solve this problem, namely the efficiency of mass production to customized products. As one of the key technologies of mass customization, modular design can meet our customers personalized and diversification while reducing production costs and shorten the product life cycle.As the key and foundation of module design, The module partition which is the core of modular technology application, greatly affect modular platform building, interface design and product configuration. However, the existing module partition is mainly aimed at optimizing the way functional and structural decomposition or life cycle of products. Most of their Process is very complicated, the versatility is bad, and the modularity is not high. When the number of parts is excessive, you can only get the approximate optimal solution. Based on the existing research results, analyzes a series of basic principles to be followed of module partition and combines the merits of genetic algorithm and simulated annealing algorithm, genetic simulated annealing algorithm is proposed to solve the problem. The results show that this method can effectively avoid solving global optimization problems fall into the trap of local optimization, the results obtained for the module partition of series products have a good effect, can effectively improve the efficiency and accuracy of the use of cluster analysis method for solving module partition.The combination of modularity and information technology greatly promote the application depth and breadth of modular technology. The thesis has analyzed the process of modular design of typical electromechanical products and basic principles of module partition, to use genetic simulated annealing algorithm to do module partition, to build a modular platform based on the product lifecycle management software Windchill, provides a good basis for the practical application of modular technology and the combination of modularization and information technology.
