Although flat type induction heating represented by electromagnetic ovenhas been applied widely, it can not be applied in the advanced industrial field dueto its low heating quality. Main reason is the poor thermal equilibrium of platetype electromagnetic induction heating which means there is low temperatureregion, the no heated zone, in the plate. Nevertheless, the advantagesenvironmental protection, high efficiency and strong controllability make itextremely have the research value for the future application in industrial field. Therefore, this subject mainly research the application of flat plate typeelectromagnetic induction heating deriving from SMD welding in order to solvethe problem of heating balance. In order to research the flat plate type induction heating further, this paperfocuses on magnetic field of the coil, eddy current on the flat and heatingefficiency. In the first, induction heating coil is reseached in detail in order to getthe distribution of the magnetic field induced by coil. Though analysing by usingthe classical electromagnetic field theory and finite element calculation ofmagnetic field, as well as the analysis of the experimental data, the distributionof magnetic field induced by induction heating coil is summed up. It lays thefoundation for the application of plate type electromagnetic induction heating.Secondly, the distribution of eddy current should be researched, as well asfactors which affects the distribution of it. Then the method used to solve theheating balance can be gotten. Based on the study of the vortex electric field, though the model of3D eddy current field, description equations of eddy currentfield and its analysis of FEM, the distribution of eddy current is concluded. Itshow the eddy current exists separately. According to the distribution of eddycurrent, the balance of heating can be solved by dividing the iron plate.Lastly, efficiency analysis is made on the solution come up above. Firstly, using magnetic thermal coupling field analysis of ANSYS gets the final state ofinduction heating. Then, efficiency evaluation of the solution is made basing theresults of finite element analysis. The efficiency evaluation for scheme selectionis summed up by verifying the rationality and feasibility of this solution.
