Aero-engine development is not only an important link to the development ofaviation industry but also a significant part of national defense construction andeconomic society development. It is difficult to coordinate aero-engine developmentas it is a complicated systems engineering which involves a series of fields such asPolitics, Economy, Military, Industry and Technology and also involves differentkinds of overall and subsystem research and manufacturing parties. With complexityand continuous improvement on the technical level of the aero-engine, the customerexpects more on the aero-engine performance. In this case, the development of newaero-engine becomes more and more difficult, and the development cycle constantlyextends and the development cost overspends, which mean that there are morerequirements on the project risk management.Based on the domestic and abroad research on project risk management andcurrent status of aero-engine development and the requirements on its project riskmanagement, this article takes a research on the risk management of the aero-enginedevelopment project of a company.The main research work is as follows:(1) This article takes the project risk of aero-engine development as the objectsystematically introducing its theory frame system of a company and summarizing itsconnotation, characteristic and the detailed process of risk managementimplementation of a company.(2)On the basis of analyzing the current situation of some project riskmanagement abroad and in allusion to the practical situation of domestic aero-enginedevelopment, this article makes a research on the process of risk planning,riskidentification,risk assessment, risk response and risk monitoring of aero-enginedevelopment of a company and then makes a key risk factor set of aero-enginedevelopment. Based on the Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) together with applyingDelphi to do the risk identification, the article does the risk assessment by usingAnalytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) that combined qualitative analysis and quantitativeanalysis. It also presents the countermeasures of risks and risk monitoring techniqueof aero-engine development according to the project stage.(3)This article takes the risk management of one turboprop aero-engine development as an example and carding the detailed steps and process of its riskmanagement which helps to realize the integration of the risk management theory andaero-engine development reality.Through theory introduction and case analysis, the article makes a tentativeexploration on the risk management of the aero-engine development project and itwould provide specific method and data support to this kind of risk management.
