A Study On Automobile Flexible Welding Line For Multiple Car Bodies

At present, land resources for industrial purpose is in short supply, automobileenterprises must organize the pruduction manufacturing of multiple vehicle types atthe limited space. Meanwhile, the diversification of vehicle types and the speed of theupgrade should meet the market demand constantly. The traditional weldingproduction line for single type has caused great waste in the land cost and investmentin fixed assets.Based on the above reasons, a flexible welding production line for multiple typesof vehicle bodies was studied in this paper. The main contents are described asfollows:Modes of flexible welding production lines: Several patterns of flexible weldingproduction lines used commonly at present, together with their constituting parts andtheir applications in different car companies, are introduced.Planning and design of flexible welding production line: In this section, planningand design methods together with their applications for flexible welding productionline are firstly discussed; then, the critical control points in planning and design of theflexible welding production line are discussed.Compositions of flexible welding production line: The basic structure andcharacteristics of a new flexible welding line used in the author’s company, includingthe jigs，conveying equipment, welding automation, on-line laser detection and so on,are introduced.Summarization and expectation: The usage situation of the flexible weldingproduction line is summarized, and the improvement for the flexible weldingproduction line is expected.
