With the rapid economic development and the improvement of people’s living standard, cars have become a form of daily transportation for the ordinary family. According to the statistics from China Automobile Association, in 2014 China’s auto production and sales reached to new highs, with the completion of 23,722,900 and 23,491,900 respectively, and an increase of 7.26% and 6.86%. The production of China’s auto accounts for more than 30% in the global auto production. As the sales increase year after year and the capacity of the automotive manufacturers improves increasingly, the capacity and manufacturing quality of the production line are confronted with greater demands and challenges.The concept of "Industry 4.0" pushes manufacturing industry to a greater challenge. It relies on the information system of Things (Cyber-Physical System referred CPS), and makes supply, production, and sales datamation, finally achieves the goal of being effective and personalized product offerings. Automobile manufacturing industry, as a key component of the manufacturing sector, how to achieve intelligent manufacturing, and accelerate the butt, "Made in China 2025". It must be achieved by changing production patterns to get the effective integration of automation, standardization and intelligent manufacturing.According to the requirements of SDY’s (SAIC-GM Dong Yue Motors) development strategy, the thesis proposes the idea and strategy of improving intelligent system of the production line of welding workshop in SDY. First, through the detailed analysis of production lines in domestic factories, drawing on the current design methods of the industry, relying on the "Industry 4.0" concept, the problems of intelligentization that needed to be solved are put forward. It analyzes the situation of low efficiency of current production line, poor flexibility and productivity waste. Through the targeted analysis, development of a series of improvement programs can significantly improve production efficiency of welding production lines, and reduce manufacturing costs, thus the intelligent multi-platform vehicle automated production is achieved. Second, the issues raised are analyzed to explore the difficulty and methods of the research. It researches in regards of the information network, automated production lines, intelligent quality control, logistics and automatic configuration. With the application of the latest design concepts and new technologies, it attempts to make a concrete and feasible implementation plan, and then to transform the production line optimization. Finally, through the implementation and commissioning of a series of programs, the feasibility of high intelligence production of multi-platform vehicle is verified. Through the successful transformation of intelligent automobile welding production lines, the production capacity has reached 35JPH (jobs per hour) up to 65JPH effect single-wire double shifts with an annual capacity of 335,000 units of the target. In the transformation process, the writer sums up the transformation process of the lessons learned, analyzes the possible subsequent problems and challenges to be faced, and provides reference function to the transformation and intelligentization of other production lines.
