The stainless steel stamping and welding centrifugal pump made with stamping andwelding, which is a new type of centrifugal pump, is different from traditional castingcentrifugal pump. It has many advantages in energy conservation, environmental protection,batch production and other aspects compared to casting centrifugal pump. At present, thedomestic design theory of stainless steel stamping and welding pump is limited to the pumpwith small flow and low specific speed of hydraulic turbine. There is no complete designtheory system on the centrifugal pump with mid-high specific speed of hydraulic turbine causethe system research is rarely. Aimed at the stamping and welding pump with mid-high specificspeed of hydraulic, this article studied the hydraulic model, pump structure and manufacturingprocesses of stamping and welding centrifugal pump via finite element numerical analysismethod.Firstly, the hydraulic model of250QJ(R)230casting centrifugal pump was establishedand the performance curves of casting centrifugal pump were obtained through numericalsimulation of the hydraulic model via CFX software. The factors of that caused error betweenthe experimental data and simulation results were researched. Finally, the reference frame fordesigning the stamping and welding centrifugal pump was established.Combined with the features of stamping and welding pump, the structure requirements ofstamping process and the given performance requirements, the hydraulic structure and modelof welding and stamping centrifugal pump were designed and established. Via CFX software,the hydraulic model was simulated and the influence of structure parameters of pump on thepump performance was researched, more ever, the relation curves of structural parametersand pump performance were established.The structure of stamping and welding pump was optimized based on the structureparameter-pump performance curve and the given comprehensive performance of thereference250QJ(R)230casting pump. The optimal structure parameters were as follows, theblade outlet angle was24°, the outlet diameter of the impeller was170mm, the outlet width ofthe impeller was35mm, the wrapping angle of blade was101°. The optimized stamping andwelding pump had advantages of higher efficiency, smaller rated power, steady output power,which had better comprehensive performance than casting pump.The stamping mold and process of key part for the pump were designed and optimized bythe numerical simulation results.
