This paper introduces the status about the development of Gatling gun system at homeand abroad, and analyses the structure and composition of Gatling gun system, explains itsworking principle. Combined virtual prototyping technology with ADAMS, a dynamicsimulation model of the six barrels30mm Gatling gun has been established. The papercalculates the bore resultant force of high-speed Gatling gun based on classical Interiorballistics and MATLAB, and researches the loading methods of Gatling gun bore resultantforce by ADAMS, discusses the realization of equivalent buffer and variable cam curvegroove. The kinematics of Gatling gun and recoil movement has been obtained based oncompleted dynamic simulation model. This paper has designed a new dynamics simulation program by using the orthogonaltest method, and has researched the influence on the recoil movement of Gatling gun systemunder the different factor-levels, which include different shooting frequency, variable camcurve groove and buffer’s parameter (rigidity, damping, and preload). A better matchingscheme of a variety of factor-levels has been given through analyzing the index of recoilmovement and collision force.Based on finite element analysis method and vibration analysis theory, modal analysis ofGatling gun system in case of different layout forms of barrel group clamps has been done byABAQUS. It researches the interaction between modal of Gatling gun and layout forms ofbarrel group clamps. At last, a reasonable arrangement of barrel group clamps has been made. The research of this paper has the significant value for Gatling gun system in the field offundamental research and improved design level.
