Research On CRM Training And Evaluation For Student Pilots In Ab Initio Flight Training

Crew resource management (CRM) training and evaluation system is essential to flight safety. However, the research of CRM training in China started late, and the researches now still stay in the stage of theory and experience, which have not yet formed a complete, effective CRM training and evaluation system. Therefore, CRM training has not been carried out ideally at present in domestic, and it’s even much rarer to evaluate the training effect.In view of the above, the following two aspects were mainly researched in this paper. First, CRM abilities composition has been studied, The method of expert interview and questionnaire survey were used to construct the hierarchical structure model of CRM. Then combined with the writer’s own experience and based on the result of the AHP method, the ELT-MCC students were regarded as the research object to get the weight value of the CRM abilities, which make the training more meaningful. Second, CRM training experiment has been implemented. The contrast experiment was offered to the32students at this stage. In order to make the results of the assessment quantified, and to make the process operable, a training effect evaluation list of CRM training for the ELT-MCC students was formed in this paper, according to the results of actual evaluation to verify the effectiveness of the training. The results show that:the16students who have attended the CRM training are stronger at a number of skills (such as decision-making, cooperation, situational awareness etc.) than the16ones who haven’t.This study not only advanced the theory of CRM training and evaluation plan, but also selected the students of entry level for the actual training and evaluation, which make it a relatively complete CRM training experience. This is significant for aviation training institutions to make a progress in the pilot’s CRM training and make it more scientific, more correspond with the actual needs.
