In recent years, with the continuous progress of the society and the rapiddevelopment of automobile industry, the phenomenon such as urban road trafficcongestion and obstruction is increasing. In addition, the speed of urbanization inChina has gradually accelerated, the urban population size and car ownership areincreasing and contribute to the road traffic congestion, causing a series of traffic andenvironmental problems. In urban road network, the urban traffic trunk roads play animportant role in the entire road network. Most of city traffic load is borne by themain roads, which are the main carrier of traffic network. It is significant to guaranteethe smooth passage of traffic flow in urban trunk roads for improving the overallcapacity and alleviating the pressure of the urban road network traffic.Based on the above understanding, this paper researches the one-way green wavetraffic signal control method. The function and meaning of arterial coordinationcontrol is analyzed and the related researches status at home and abroad areexpounded. Then, the paper analyzes the existing problems of traffic signal control, and thepublic signal cycle of the arterial control system and green time allocation method areoptimized. Taking the implementation conditions of arterial control and tradtionalpublic signal cycle method into consideration, the optimization of public signal cycleis obtained. The green time allocation is also optimized of non-critical intersections bybringing in the non-coordination phase saturation concept. Then the offsets of arterial control system are optimized. Then two improvedgreen wave band models are built. This paper introduces the basic ideas of basicmodel, green wave band extension model and MULTIBAND model, summarizing theproblems of the existing models. Aimed at the shortage of traditional maximum greenwave band model, two kinds of improved models are put forward, one of which isbased on the form of green wave band, expanding the bandwidth forms of the greenwave band. Another one is based on different bandwidth demands which brings in thefactors affecting the bandwidth allocation, combined with bandwidth demand ratio tooptimize the green wave bandwidth. Finally, the offsets of the system can be obtainedusing the correlation between arterial coordination control system. Finally, the Xinmin street of Changchun is taken as the simulation road networkand Vissim traffic simulation software is employed to verify the effectiveness of themethods proposed in this paper. The simulation results show that the vehicle delay of arterial signal control is obviously less than single point signal control which provesthe effectiveness of the scheme proposed in this paper.
