With the acceleration of urbanization and the improvement of people's living standards,the dependence on urban transportation also increased.The rapid growth of vehicle amount in recent years has greatly increased the contradiction between current transportation supply and transportation demand,which triggered a series of traffic problems such as traffic congestion.traffic accidents,traffic pollution and energy consumption.In order to solve the urban traffic problems better,it is necessary to carry out reasonable trafic control.Urban arterial network is an important part of the urban traffic,so it is effective to implement the coordination of arterial roads to improve the condition of the entire traffic network.In this thesis,in order to solve the problems of current methods for the arterial coordinated control,the phase adjustment and green time optimization have been considered to improve the arterial green-wave coordinated control effect,and the following work has been completed:(1)The theoretical basis of urban arterial traffic control has been elaborated froru the aspects of control parameters,evaluation indicators,eontrol conditions and control methods.In addition,the arterial green wave coordinated control methods widely used have been summarized,and its applicabilities and deficiencies have been analyzed.(2)Based on the analysis of phase scheme setting,common cycle determination,green time optimization and ideal offset calculation,the phase adjustment and the green time variation have been considered comprehensively to establish a two-way green wave coordinated control model which is to minimize the error between the actual start time and the ideal start time of the coordinated phase,and the genetic algorithm has been used to solve the model.(3)Guanggu 3rd road in Wuhan is used as a case to verify the model by VISSIM simulation software.The simulation results show that the method of considering phase adjustment and green time variation comprehensively in the common period and the peak period both improves the average travel time,the average delay,and the average stops in comparison with the classical MAXBAND method,the method that does not consider the phase adjustment,and the method that dose not consider the green time optimization.Based on the above,the method of both considering phase adjustment and green time variation has been proved its effectiveness.
