During recent years, with rapid development of China’s economy, the electricity industry, one of the foundation of economic development, also develops fast, which greatly boosts the demand of electric power meters. The electric power meters mainly consist of two types:one type is mechanical electric power meter and another is electronic electric power meter based on their difference in working principles. As electronic electric power meter has such advantages as high precision, high reliability, and multiple functions, the meter gradually become the mainstream of future electric power meters. Under such market tendency, the chip solution concerning electronic electric power meter also becomes the hot research issue of design and development industry of integrated circuit.This thesis is based on a chip design project that is oriented to electronic electric power meter application by using SiP (System in Package). The electronic electric power meter chip accomplished herein can implement an electronically-oriented system application after its integration with a MCU chip by using the SiP.This thesis mainly discusses the design of Comunication Command Interface between the chips and power-supply control circuit implementation in the SiP integration.In this thesis, the author’s main research work included:1)By using innovative ideas, structured a communication command interface to realize the command transmission from the MCU chip to the electric power meter chip, achieving an organic connection between the two chips. Additionally, the author defined the communication data format, worked out the communication commands and completed the designs of communication interface circuit and data transmission circuit by the sequence signal of communication data stream.2) On the MCU chip power-up/down conditions, structured PMOS switches’ ON/OFF control circuit to achieve the power supply control over the MCU chip; also discussed the issues on how to control and handle the settings of related chip pins when the MCU chip is powered down.3)Responsible for formulating the specification of the electric power meter Chip and promote the whole progress of development project.Completed the research on the function verification/product testing policies for the electric power meter chip, and from the perspective of design quality management, lead-in the design management methods, like the Bug convergence curve for functional verification and the test evaluation by third-party verification, to improve the design quality of the chip.
