With the development of the automotive mold industry and computer simulation technology matures, the application of injection molding CAE technology increasingly widespread. By means of CAE technology to quickly find inadequate product design and mold design and to improvement at any time, it effectively to saves the time of product development cycle and mold design cycle. As an important part of car, dashboard upper skeleton is greater demand, which is processed by injection molding. In actual production, car dashboard skeleton often has warpage and other quality problems.Based on the warpage of plastic part, we use Moldflow software to simulate the injection molding process and forming mechanism of the car dashboard upper skeleton. Through the analysis of the injection gate form, filling effect, weld line distribution, the flow front temperature, injection pressure, clamping force, shrink-depth and warpage of the plastic part, we explored the molding law and warpage reason of the plastic part.The results show that warpage of the plastic parts included the tail twisting and the sides bending. Characteristics of the material ABS HU600can meet the stiffness requirements of car dashboard upper skeleton. Comparing the4spouts model and5spouts model in the original design, warpage large amount of plastic parts, after improvement, got three optimized design.By comparison, we find that4spouts model has better weld line strength than5spouts model and6spouts model, but the warpage of the6spouts model is smallest. Therefore, choose the final6spouts model design.
