Research On Current Status And Strategies Of Hollowing Villages In Quzhou

A great deal of rural settlement is hollowing currently, which presents as the rural populationgradually outflow, the settlement’s expansion while some rural constructions and land are aboundedand idled. Those result in some problems: the missing of constructor of village, deterioration of therural environment, the loss of traditional village culture, the vitality of rural development, destructionof cultivated land resource from disorder development of construction land. Thus some studies to dealwith the above problems of hollowing rural settlements are extremely necessary and urgent. Theconditions of rural settlements hollowing have differences among different regions, as well as amongdifferent villages, which are not only impacted by natural factors, but also by social factors. Selectfour hollowing rural settlements in Quzhou as research objects.The study is carrying on through literature reading, interviews consulting, field graphic mark, shotrecords, statistics and other methods. Reading literature of different disciplines of domestic andabroad related to this study to grasp the main research results. Consulting and interviewing therelevant departments to initially learn hollowing rural settlements in Quzhou. Then select fourhollowing rural settlements with consideration of different terrains, industries, locations, sizes andother factors of villages. Learn the situation of rural settlements hollowing through two aspects thatare space and population. On the aspect of space, analyzing morphological development of ruralsettlements and abandon of houses, presenting two types, those are the plain type and mountain type.On the aspect of population, the transfer of the rural population is mainly affected by economicfactors, thus hollowing rural settlements can be classified two types, and those are agricultural typeand non-agricultural type. On this basis, combining with the important factors, the population shiftdistance, classifying6types of the hollowing rural settlements: the plain-agricultural type, theplain-non-agricultural Ⅰtype, the plain-non-agricultural Ⅱtype, the mountain-agricultural type, themountain-non-agricultural Ⅰtype and the mountain-non-agricultural Ⅱtype. The classification canbe basically used as the identification of types of hollowing rural settlements. Then investigate rurallandscape under the situation of rural settlement hollowing. Finally, propose measures of differenttypes of hollowing rural settlements, put forward three means of landscape architecture to cope withthe development of rural settlements hollow, which are environmental protection, abandoned space’sactivation and rural landscape’s guidance.
