Research On Algorithms For Scheduling Arrival Aircrafts In Multi-airport Terminal Area

With the rapid development of our economy, the civil aviation has achieved a greatprogress. On the one hand, the air traffic flow has grown greatly; on the other hand, thenumber of large airports is increasing gradually, especially one metropolis may have twoairports or several ones. However, for the multi-airport terminal area, it consist of the intenseairports, complex airspace and heavy traffic, and it has being the area of congested airspace,flight delays and flight accident, which seriously restricted the air traffic operation. Therefore,studying a scientific and efficient multi-airport cooperating model has been a key to solve theproblem of multi-airport area.Under the above background, this paper mainly studies the algorithms for arrivalaircrafts’ schedule in multi-airport terminal area. Firstly, it analyzes the airspace structure,operating characteristics and constraints in the multi-airport terminal, and then introduces theexisting methods of aircrafts’ schedule. Secondly, after analyzing the mode of operation inmulti-airport terminal area and studying the airspace resources and time resources inmulti-airport terminal area, it proposes a simplified model that manages the aircrafts’ scheduledynamically based on the space-time resources. Then an arrival aircrafts’ schedulingalgorithm is designed combined with the space-time resources, and applied to solve theproblem of multi-airport terminal operating mode configuration. Finally, based on the abovemodel and algorithm, it develops simplified software for the arrival aircrafts’ schedule ofmulti-airport terminal area. Simulation results show that the above model and algorithm canachieve a better optimized schedule.
