The smart building system based on WSANs is a cooperation product of IoT technology, computer technology, automation technology and communication technology. These advanced technologies perform on the electric power, lighting, air condition, safety protection and monitoring system to achieve the management automation, communication automation and office automation. In a smart building system, rule engine technology is introduced to provide flexible control and management. Control logics are usually expressed in the form of service rules and stored in rule database, in this way the controlling logics are separated from data. Thus the users can implement on-demand functions by adding or modifying service rules. And the system implements services by analyzing the rules. However, the expansion of the system increases service rules, which makes it inevitable that conflicts, fuzzy logic and inaccurate input occur. In this paper, we propose a rule verification mechanisms based on probability analysis to check the rule content anomaly and the conflict between rules. The rule verification is defined as a two-step process:rule verification in creating and rule verification in executing, which balance the verification quality with speed. We also provide a quick resolution strategy for rule conflicts based on conflict-scenario-analysis so as to guarantee the rule system performing appropriately. Besides, we design an efficient rule engine subsystem, in which the optimization approaches are embedded in the rule compiling, event filtering and rule matching components.Compared with existing rule verification mechanisms, the proposed mechanism has noticeable improvements which will not bring the system heavy computing overhead at the same time. Since the mechanism shows good simplicity and portability, it can be used not only in the smart building system, but also in other knowledge based intelligent systems in the future.
