| The appearance of cities began to look totally new because of the rapid economic development as well as large scale construction recently. However the original spatial scale and living circumstance have been changed due to the appearance of tall buildings and motormobiles, which causes those humanized places in city spaces to be swallowed gradually, as a result. From that reason, people start to concentrate on how to make the development of cities return to "humanistic spirit" in their related study on urban design and construction. The streets, especially those located in a city’s historical region act as a crucial part of the city space and show the city’s unique image and culture, hence it has been getting more and more attention. Doing some research about the street’s influence on human being’s psychological level from the angle of environmental psychology can help with the supplement of this region’s study, provide advice and reference for the practical work and therefore help the street to have better function.The historical street in Tianjin shows its unique features because of its neat street layout, quiet environment as well as compact construction layout. From the aspect of man’s aesthesis for the street, by introducing the concept of environmental preference matrix in field of environmental psychology and the research method of spatial morphology-emotionrr assessment, based on the relative data of people aesthesis of living street obtained through semantic differential(SD) method, regression analysis method is utilized to analyze the correlation quantitatively between four elements in environmental preference matrix and the street spatial environmental preference degree. Then a predicting equation for street spatial environmental preference degree is deduced. Combined with the reality of study objects and analysis of urban space elements’ affect on street preferences, we are able to provide scientific countermeasures and suggestions for reservation and renewal in this region. |
