| In the context of such national policies as urban stock development,historical and cultural protection and urban physical examination in recent years,unprecedented importance has been attached to historical block protection and renewal.The practice of historical block protection sees government-and-developer-led protection and renewal mode still serve as a main implementation path in China;while the implementation process sees most residents in the block perform passive coordination and obedience.On one hand,there is destitute of active participation channel for the public in the process of urban cultural protection,what’s more,historical block protection and renewal keeps subject to single line projects,contributing to an insufficient decision-making participation of "human",the principal part of space use.On the other hand,as society progresses and economic model undergoes changes,people have made transformation from pursuing material satisfaction to pursuing humanization and even higher spiritual level.As a result,historical block protection and renewal should satisfy people’s use needs functionally,more importantly,take users’ emotional and spiritual satisfaction into full consideration.Backed up by mentioned above,the post-occupancy evaluation theory(POE)is applied to the protection,inheritance,renewal and transformation of historical blocks and holds vital significance in theory and practice.Post-occupancy evaluation theory highlights the combination between traditional qualitative analysis and user-oriented quantitative analysis to reflect the actual use of built environment in an all-round way,and extends from the field of architecture to all built environment.Presently,Postoccupancy evaluation theory has vaulted into a key technical tool to verify the implementation effects and results of space environment design objectives and given a scientific basis for further practical work.The protection practice of Dihua Street Historical Block in Dadaocheng,Taipei is of great significance to improving urban historical heritage protection system of Taiwan.It has set into practice for more than two decades that Dihua Street has played a role of an exclusive area for Dadaocheng’s historical features since 2000 as a means of historical block protection practice.Additionally,its practical experience including progressive protection,metropolis reviving,multi-principal-part participation is often drawn by other counterparts.Therefore,this thesis centers on Dihua Street Historical Block,applies the research methods of post-occupancy evaluation to its historical street space protection practice,and stages on a new perspective for its protection,inheritance,utilization and research.First and foremost,this research tries to proceed from the characteristics of reviving practice of space protection of the lanes in Dihua Street Historical Block,and probes into the necessity,feasibility and evaluation connotation of postoccupancy evaluation of historical blocks on the basis of combing and summary on the protection theory and reuse modes of historical blocks from overseas countries and both sides of the Taiwan Straits.Secondly,backed up by concerned planning and reviving practice of the protection of Dihua Street Historical Block,this research makes objectives and evaluation elements of post-occupancy evaluation clear.An investigation,with questionnaire,on-spot observation and other methods,is conducted on the space of the lanes in Dihua Street Historical Block;and makes a summary on the problems and contradictions in the space protection and inheritance of the lanes in Dihua Street Historical Block based on on-spot investigation,qualitative research and quantitative analysis.Finally,pertaining to the development of Dihua Street Historical Block,this thesis puts forward targeted and feasible strategies for protection and inheritance for the space of streets and lanes from aspects of physical space,functional use and social culture. |
