The city is the main dwelling place for human beings. Often regarded as the birthplace of a city, the waterfront has been raising people for thousands of years. With the continuous social and economic development, the functions of the urban waterfront are being re-transforming as well, which offers great new opportunities for the studies of urban waterfront. The city’s waterfront space not only carries the most of the urban history and cultural heritage, but also shows the the urban landscape. Thus we are paying more and more attention. But more and more areas are in pursuit of speed, meanwhile overlook the lively characteristics of the waterfront region, blindly imitating the mode of development and construction from home and abroad, which has caused the vitality of urban waterfront to disappear gradually. With the continuous expansion of Shenyang City, the original boundary river-Hun River has become a internal city river. In the overall urban planning, its geographical location and its surrounding bearing functions determine the Hun River waterfront space to be an excellent place that will surely reflect the city’s geographical features. At present, Shenyang Hun River Waterfront Development Planning and Design has been basically completed.
