With the increase of city vehicles, the number of traffic accidents has increased,especially between the vehicle and pedestrian accidents are more frequent. Pedestriansare the most vulnerable groups in road traffic. Protect the pedestrian trafficsafety has become a common concern of relevant researchers around the world.Pedestrian crossing facilities can allot the right of way of pedestrians and vehicle,ensure the safety of the vehicles and pedestrians. The right pedestrian crossingfacilities can improve the safety of pedestrians,reduce the pedestrian and vehicle delayand improve the road capacity.This paper studies the different types of urban crossing facilities and servicefeatures,analyzes the problems existing in the road crossing facilities.Based on theanalysis of the behavior of pedestrians crossing the street under no signal control, signalcontrol and on grade separated pedestrian facilities, discusses the psychologicalcharacteristics,traffic characteristics and illegal behavior of pedestrians. Explore allkinds of crossing facilities selection conditions,which is now too broad and lack ofpractical guidance in specification. Considering two indicators,which respectively arethe facility capacitise and pedestrian delay.When choosing the pedestrian facilities type,the first sequence is plain faeilities and no signal control, then considering thestereoseopic facilitie and signal control.The facilities selection of boundary conditionsis presented. For the choice of the pedestrian bridge and tunnel,select the userpreference,social benefits,the construction influence, the urban landscape, implementcost, topography, geomorphology and climate these six indicators, using analytichierarchy process for comparison.According to the preference of pedestrian crossingfacilitie of different pedestrian,based on actual investigation,evaluated the choicebehavior of pedestrian with logistic cregression analysis,and set up the correspondinglogistic model.The research results have certain significance for the promotion of urbanpedestrian traffic safety,and provide practical conditions in the selection of pedestriancrossing facilities.In the meanwhile, we can judge and predict the probability ofdifferent people choose different crossing facilities baesd on the pedestrian crossingfacilities choice behavior model, provide a reference for setting up reasonable andhigher utilization ratio crossing facilities.
