The Exploration Of Chinese Traditional Culture In Modern Architectural Design In Taiwan

The content of this thesis is the exploration of Chinese traditional culture in modern architectural design in Taiwan.Traditional culture is the great wealth of every country and region, with the development of the economy, if we lost the traditional style and features, different countries and areas will be the same between each other, the development of the culture of the world will be monocultural without the personality. Therefore, under the background of globalization, each country should pay attention to the inheritance of the traditional culture, so do the architectural design.After the year of1945, the awareness of the traditional culture was gradually in-depth in Taiwan; however, Chinese mainland was being influenced by the great leap forward and the cultural revolution, the thinking of the traditional culture had nearly20years stagnation stage. Therefore,compared with Taiwan,the thinking of the traditional culture was not deep enough in Chinese mainland.In this thesis, the study of the experience of Taiwan could afford some significance to Chinese mainland.I had a chance to be an exchange student in Taiwan for half a year. Through visiting and investigating the local modern architectural works which expressed the traditional culture.I summarized the exploration of architects’thoughts in Taiwan after1945.1expound the background and general situation in each period, through the two lines of architects and architectural works,I researched and summarized. Overall,it presented three process:Ⅰ:Imitate the form of traditional culture:Imitate the form of traditional architectural and express the traditional elements (not architectural) in symbolism, in order to obtain the similar or similar visual perception with the form of traditional buildings.Ⅱ:Express the space-beauty from the traditional buildings:Using the experience of traditional space design path and the characteristics of the traditional space organization, in order to arrange the design path and organize the space layout in modern architectural design.Ⅲ:Inherit the spirit of artistic conception:Not seeking the similarity in form and space, but seeking the Chinese traditional religion and the essence drawn out of the cultural philosophy, using them in modern architectural design. Through analyzing the3process,this thesis summarized the design method and design thoughts for inheriting the traditional culture.Evaluating and analyzing them based on the current situation.Then put forward some Suggestions to the Chinese mainland.
