In contemporary society, the power system has become the lifeline and thefoundation of the national economy, and its safe running has become animportant issue of people’s livelihood. Therefore, increasing the security of allkinds of electrical equipments in the power system is very significant toguarantee the power system and protect people’s lives and property.In the development of Power Grid, we set new requirements to the high-voltage switch for its reliability and stability, which requires high-voltage switchcharacteristic tester to test high-voltage switch. Because the accuracy of high-voltages switch characteristic tester will change as a standard equipment afterworking a period time. Therefore, in order to ensure the accuracy of the high-voltage switch characteristic tester, we should checkout the high-voltage switchcharacteristic tester regularly.To resolve problems that the metrological department is short for testequipments of high-voltage switch characteristic tester at present, the calibrationtechnique is relatively backward, and its measuring precision is comparativelylow, this paper develops a special instrument that can measure the electricparameter and time parameter of high-voltage switch characteristic tester whichis based on its main function. This equipment uses the advanced technology suchas Micro-processor and integrated circuit. The hardware circuit includes inputcircuit, AC-DC conversion circuit, AD conversion circuit, signal output circuit,display circuit and so on. Completing the circuit, the test result indicates that theaccuracy of AC electricity parameter is0.5%and DC is0.2%, which hasachieved the standard of power industry, and the accuracy of time parameter testtechnique reaches0.01%which is better than the required0.1%. The device iseasy to carry and its connection is simple. It has a good human-machine interface.The prospects of development will be very good.
