Cloud design is a new kind of design method based on cloud computing mode. With thehelp of network technologies, the designing software for bridge crane can be put into cloudterminal so that this agile designing software can become more available, and it is easier forpeople to find their ideal3D model of parts of bridge crane. Through the application ofparameterization, modular technology and database technology, this article has constructedthe design platform system of bridge crane. In this way, by changing the traditional designmethods, the designers can finish the design of complete machine of a bridge crane in aconvenient and rapid manner.This article introduces the research background of bridge crane as well as its currentsituation at home and abroad. In the meantime, it describes the research significance of thissubject, and extends the main content and framework studied in this paper.Base on cloud manufacturing, this paper built up a designing platform for bridge craneby taking Solid Edge as3D design software and applying such system development tool asVisual Basic Microsoft SQL Server database, ANSYS analysis software, etc.This paper studies the key technologies of cloud design platform system of bridge crane,including parametric technology and modularization technology of bridge crane, data storagetechnology and data management technology of cloud computing. With the help of these technologies, this paper develops the designing platform and system for bridge crane based oncloud manufacturing, and introduces the method of application and operation for this systemby setting an example of a certain mode of bridge crane.The researches and applications applied on the cloud design platform system of bridgecrane have opened a new way for the design of bridge crane. It has also accelerated theinformationization process of crane industry and greatly improved the efficiency of bridgecrane design.
