Recently, the continuously variable transmission (CVT) has been widely used in theautomotive industry. Due to its good power performance,reliability and maneuverability,a huge number of consumers are attracted. And the chain CVT with characteristics ofhigher reliability,safety,comfort and low noise, which studies dynamic characteristics ofthe chain CVT is also growing to be the key hot spots of academic fields and automotiveindustry.In this paper,based on the patents ‘A chain continuously variable transmission with arocker pin’ by the research group, combined with the patent further industrialdevelopment projects, through elaborating how chain CVT system works,and to analyzeits theoretical on the basis of the mechanical properties of the chain CVT, then calculatethe slippage,the static and dynamic tension force of the chain and clamping force duringexercise.It also studied the harmonic corresponding between clamping force and statictension force of the chain.On the basis of the developed continuously variable transmission have been with therocker pin chain model, established the contact dynamic model of chain continuouslyvariable transmission with initial ratio of1:1, the model can achieve a continuous steplessof different ratio. Thesis based on the technology of virtual prototype simulation, canestablish the chain CVT’s simulation model.Through the analysis of the slip,clampingforce,and chain force in different ratio, it will reveal the dynamic characteristics of thechain CVT,even can discuss the difference between the simulation analysis and theory.Based on the theoretical basis of system modeling and analysis, a vehicle model wi-th chain CVT integration system in collection of mechanical, hydraulic and electric wa- s established. We builded a vehicle model with chain CVT which can achieve a certain ra-nge of transmission ratio, used system modeling and simulation platform for simulatio-n analysis, studied the dynamic characteristics of the vehicle continuously variable trans-mission systems and made a comparison with the independent simulation analysis of cont-inuously variable transmission.Results of this study laid the foundation for further industrial development of chain CVT transmission system, while established a continuously variable transmission system vehicle model for the first time in the country, which is an innovative and practice for mechanical and automotive CVT transmission.
