ABSTRACT:As substantial of operation and management of urban transit, crew scheduling is crew work plan established based on train diagram. Presently in the practice of operation and management of urban transit in China, the establishment of crew scheduling is completed by the chef operators of managed companies of urban transit in most cases with their experiences. Handmade crew scheduling frequently takes one week or two, and hardly has enough flexibility to cover emergency or change of train diagram and poor regularity of crew duty and rest between crews which will severely undermine the operation efficiency and service level. So it is concluded that regular arrangement of crew duty and rest will enhance rationality of crew scheduling.At the present, usual goals of crew scheduling primarily include how to fulfil elementary task or how to retrench cost of crew scheduling as result of which the crew scheduling might be featured by local slant. In detail, some crews have long work plan while some have really short work plan, or some crews have long rest while some have to rest momently. Thus, on the base of existed research and practice of operation and management of urban transit, this paper proposed the concept of time equitability and built the improved model of crew scheduling based on time equitability and in addition applied time equitability to the crew scheduling model based on crew task and the crew scheduling model based on generalized cost.The contributions of this dissertation mainly summarized as following.(1)Establishment of urban transit crew scheduling model based on time equitability. This paper proposed the concept of time equitability according to the practice of operation and management of urban transit and took time equitability as the goal function and extracted constraints and demarcated parameters at the accord of the practice of operation and management of urban transit and finally constructed the crew scheduling model based on time equitability. Further, the model was solved by Genetic algorithm and the result was fully investigated.(2)Establishment of traditional urban transit crew scheduling model based on time equitability. This paper comprehensively surveyed traditional model of crew scheduling, internalized time equitability in tradition models or constraints so that traditional crew scheduling models based on time equitability were constructed and respectively solved including traditional crew scheduling of basic task based on time equitability and traditional crew scheduling of generalized costbased on time equitability.
