Nowadays the world is rapid transform from industrial society to an information society. And the foreign advanced science and technology has far-reaching influenced of our country in all aspects. At present, great changes had taken place in manufacturing mode of production. It has evolution from traditional mass production to JIT, agile manufacturing, and flexible manufacturing. As a result, the original facilities layout is not reasonable. In order to solve these problems such as poor logistics, transport congestion, matching numbers, far transportation distance, high-cost which are leads of facility layout unreasonable, this thesis give a solution to the key problem of manufacturing industry layout improvement including the logistics intensity large, congestion.JY excavator production Company was taken as the research object in this thesis, the facility layout design and simulation calculation are based on the simulation Proplanner, the method of layout analysis is SLP. JY factory facility layout was improved relative to before. The main research includes the follows:Firstly, Through the investigation of JY company, the problem of Workers keep in a state of stock outs always caused by poor logistics, material transport congestion ect. By means of collection detail data and material information, and then uses Proplanner software to simulation study, confirmed that JY logistics department has problems of transportation distance, high-cost, analyzing the reason seriously, it is because the outdated equipment of JY factory not suitable for production requirements of the new era.Secondly, Systematic layout planning (SLP) was used to analyze logistics and non-logistics for JY Company, in order to improve its layout. In accordance with the procedure that from whole to partial sequence to improve the layout in the improvement process.The first step was to improve the overall layout of the factory, the second step was function ameliorate of regional workshop, and the third step was improve the design of each functional area especially the equipment facilities. At the level of workshop, choose assembly factory workshop as research representatives to optimization the layout. In the functional areas of specific facilities and equipment layout level, selected cab assembly line of assembly workshop as the sample.Finally, the improved solution 1 and solution 2 are put forward in the stage of overall layout, and those solutions are compared by means of Proplanner simulation software. The solution 2 is the optimization one on account of the lowest logistics cost and the most fluent. With the improving of workshop layout, an improved solution is proposed to the assembly plant of this factory. Compared with current solution, the total transportation distance and logistics cost are decreased, also reduce the congestion. The cab assemble pattern, the one person in charge of one cab assemble,is improved and the different operating content assigned to different operating location is realized by the new designed assembly line, the assembly line is formed, above this lead to reduce the cab assembly tact time to 246 seconds and rise the assembly line balancing rate to 93.2%.This thesis put forward the improvement solutions for JY Company, and the Proplanner was used to simulate these solutions which superiority and effectiveness ware verified.The improvement solutions can save the company’s production cost and improve its market competitiveness. In the meantime, this thesis also can provide a reference for layout improve of the same type company.
