With the development of economic globalization, competition between enterprises becomes more acute, particular in the manufacturing industry. Manufacturing enterprises bore burdens from domestic competitors in the past because most of their products are produced in domestic. However, production nowadays is not limited by regions. To reduce cost of production, plenty of manufacturers keep part of production and operation activities at home and operate others in places around the world with the lowest cost, which promotes economic globalization to a certain extent. And manufacturers realize that the approach of reducing cost of raw materials and marketing is in the cart. Thus, layout optimization of workshops is gradually paid attention to reduce the cost by improving the efficiency of operation.A good production layout could rapidly improve the overall operation efficiency of manufacturing enterprises and achieve optimal configuration of resources through making companies make good use of resources, creating a comfortable work environment, shortening the logistic distance and reducing cost on logistics. Contrast, a bad layout will bring enterprises much loss and a lot of unnecessary cost by causing mess in production and lowering production efficiency.The status of the electronic workshop layout in company M is described in this thesis before planning and designing its layout. Two improved layout schemes are presented after following steps. F-D diagram is used to find the disadvantage of the current layout, logistic and non-logistic relationships between operation units in this workshop are analyzed by systematic layout planning and location correlogram of operation units is drawn after determining their osculation. Finally, evaluation model for layout schemes is constructed. This thesis compares two improved schemes and the original layout by FAHP to choose the best one for company M.
