With the rapid development of Chinese national economy, the contradiction between power supply and demand is increasingly outstanding. Power Demand Side Management(PDSM) plays an important role in the present electrical energy scenario now, as an efficient way to reduce and postpone the construction of electic network, to improve the efficiency and reliability of the network operation, to reduce the electric energy cost of the customer, to reduce energy consumption, to improve environmental quality etc. Interruptible load as an important content of demand-side management, making users and power companies signed a contract which can significantly increase load demand elasticity, clip peak load if the electric grid and ease power shortage situation. Because according to the requiements of the contract, the users voluntarily interrupt the power supply portion of the load during peak hours of the grid or emergency situations. The research of interruptible load managemnet has graet significance to improve energy efficency, lower peak power shortages and reduce environmental pressure. This paper summarizes the basic concept and the main content of demand-side management and interruptible load management. According to the characteristics of interruptible load and demand response, it proposed a interruptible load model based on electricity demand response. The model takes into account the basic model based on the low power price and high compensation, and makes improvements. It also considered a variety of constraints, and hence proposed a comprehensive model of interruptible load. Finally, numerical examples show the resonableness of a comprehensive model for different load characteristics of the region.
