The railway as the main artery of national economy, especially the role of railway heavy-haul transport on the national industrial adjustment, narrowing the regional gap and so is beneficial to the people’s livelihood country harmonious development strategy of great. In the development of social economy, in advance, for the construction of railway heavy-haul transport traction power supply is also a big challenge. Combination of Shuohuang railway freight volume of 350 million tons and 20000 tons of heavy haul train railway transport capacity, and power supply system not have power supply capacity to adapt and annual volume problem. From the actual situation, make full use of existing resources, further has important practical significance to study the transformation and capacity expansion of the traction power supply system of Shuohuang railway.In this paper, through the analysis of application status of Shuohuang heavy haul electrified railway, analyzes the domestic and foreign research status of railway heavy-haul transport electrification, pointed out the problem of the transformer of Shuohuang railway traction power supply system of the traction substation, contact network overload, the terminal voltage level is too low and substation power factor etc.. The combination of both the traction power supply system of facilities, equipment, analyzes the existing basic situation of external power supply, Shuohuang railway traction energy consumption and electricity consumption, put forward the external power supply power supply scheme; starting from the traction power supply mode of power supply system, discusses the way of power supply reform measures, in order to solve the overload, the current existence of the terminal voltage of transformer the problem of the low, established with the traction transformer capacity replacement, parallel capacitor reactive power compensation capacity and additional measures such as strengthen the line. OCS in new and reconstruction plan, determine the reasonable suspension type and line. Finally, in view of the traction substation, partition, AT, opening and closing of the location and layout and main wiring scheme and its operation are studied.
