As global climate changes, occurrences of extreme weather has increased significantly. There occurs power grid accident caused by meteorological factors, which impacts the stable operation of the power grid seriously. Therefore, it is necessary to analyze the impact of meteorological factors on the grid, establish the model to assess the impact, and provide the appropriate early warning mechanism to minimize the impact. It is of great importance to guarantee the safety and stability of power grid operation, maintain the normal life of the residents and promote the development of national economy.Due to many kinds of meteorological factors, the original data are quite complex. As the meteorological factors impact on all aspects of the power grid, it is difficult to establish a multi-input and multi-output unified model. Considering the related research and statistics, this paper establish a model to analyze the influence of the rainfall on coal-fired power plants, and establish another model to analyze the impact of meteorological factors on transmission line.In order to evaluate the influence of the rainfall on coal-fired power plants, this paper analyzes the effect of rainfall on coal-fired power plant coal consumption as well as on coal transport by land. The effect on coal reserves of coal-fired power plant is also quantified. Warning criterion and early warning strategies of coal reserves is proposed. The effectiveness of this model and the early warning strategy is demonstrated by applying a specific example..In this paper, the risk theory is utilized to assess the impact of meteorological factors on the transmission line. BP neural network is used to calculate the fault probability of transmission line under multiple meteorological factors. In order to calculate the risk of different lines, and to evaluate the effects of meteorological factors on transmission line, this paper uses the load reduction rate as the dominant evaluation index. The transmission line overload and bus voltage as the recessive evaluation index are used, combined with the fault probability of transmission line. Finally, by simulating in IEEE-30 bus system, the calculation results are consistent with risk matrixes, demonstrating the effectiveness of the algorithm. Extended to the real power grid simulation, practicability of the algorithm can be verified.
