With the highway’s age increasing,the early construction has been found many diseases in a variety of ways,and the diseases have developed to the base course.The causes of the base course’s diseases are complex and difficult to control.Milling the original cement stabilized gravel base and paving the Large Stone Asphalt Mixes base is considered as the best way to cure these diseases at present.In this paper,relying on the Overhaul maintenance of jing-tai highway and experiment,studying the mix design of Large Stone Asphalt Mixes materials in combined base and the design parameters of pavement structure,preparing the project of pavement structure.This topic main research content includes the following four aspects:Basic performance test of raw materials;The mix proportion design of Large Stone Asphalt Mixes;Large Stone Asphalt Mixes mechanics performance parameters under the experimental study; the pavement structure design of Large Stone Asphalt Mixes in combined base and its Application effect evaluation.We found the following conclusions through indoor tests and theoretical calculation:(1) Primary asphalt content,Combining with the thickness of asphalt film, shellen fort leakage test, Kentucky flying test, Marshall stability test results,we got the content is 3.1%. (2) Scope of pavement structure modulus of resilience in is from 1159.09 MPa to 1718.85 MPa in 20℃,1646.21 MPa to 2250.55 MPa in 15℃,6207.57MPa to 12777.03 MPa in -10℃;Cleavage strength range from 1.067 Mpa to 2.205 Mpa. (3) Porosity and temperature have a significant impact on the modulus of resilience and splitting strength of Large Stone Asphalt Mixes. (4) Using the measured parameters, based on the theory of elastic layered system, making sure the pavement structure’s thickness, the pavement structure scheme applied well via detecting.Research results will provide technical reference for its popularization and application.
