With the rapid development of power electronic technology and computer technology,new achie vements and new technology more and more widely used in the powersystem, puts forward a ne w topic for power grid construction and development. Smart grid, clean, low carbon environmen tal protection conforms to the requirements of new technology development, has become the new d irection of the development of worldpower industry. As an important support of smart grid and the basis of intelligentsubstation construction, it becomes more and more urgent. The construction of S mart Substation is mainly through two ways: one is the new intelligent substation; the two isthe intel ligent reconstruction of conventional substation.Firstly the history of China’s development of substation is summarized and summarized,analyzed the advantages of conventional substation and digital substation and the insufficiency, expounds th e necessity and advantages of intelligent substationconstruction. The work contents and key technologi es of conventional substationintelligent transformation are discussed in detail and summary. And on t he basis of 220 k V in Liaoyang, the first intelligent substation renovation project as the basis,anal yzing the necessity of Liaoyang Shoushan intelligent transformation, determine thekey technology an d key links of the intelligent transformation of Liaoyang Shoushanchange, including the developmen t of reform, the reform of automatic system, anintelligent equipment two intelligent equipment(pr ocess layer equipment modificationand interlayer equipment), intelligent transformation scheme, net work reconstruction scheme, the station clock synchronization system first advanced application func tionsand other auxiliary functions of the system implementation plan content change. By replacing th e Shoushan becomes a old equipment scheme, to meet the requirement of smart substation, two re construction system, the integration of protection and monitoring device, monitoring device to repl ace the switch independently, realize online monitoring information and the state of the switch f unction, the substation device andtwo cable wiring is reduced, thereby reducing the operation, ma intenance the workloadand substation renovation cost. To set up a set of intelligent monitoring and au xiliary control system, an intelligent monitoring and auxiliary control system in sensor networkmeas urement and control platform based, integrated video surveillance, security guards, fire alarm, f ire protection, main transformer heating and ventilation function,realize the management of substat ion operation. The intelligent alarm and fault analysis system can be studied and used in extraction o f fault alarm information, and help theoperator to fault diagnosis and treatment, provide strong su pport for the stable and efficient operation of the smart grid, with a wide range of economic and s ocial benefits.
