As people increasingly travel demand, the contradiction between travel demand and the backward transportation supply facilities become more and more sharp. Under the condition of the existing equipment, taking the reasonable planning and effective measures to urban transportation system, is an appropriate way to solve the problem of heavy traffic. In crowded conditions, the study of public transport and cars trip way contributing to alleviate the urban road traffic congestion, and providing powerful basis for the government to enact corresponding policies.The growth of the motor vehicle is swelling, while the development of road infrastructure is relatively slow. With the increase of car trip way, the problem of heavy traffic is becoming more and more conspicuousness. To ease traffic congestion problem, therefore, is to guide too much way of car trip to the other transportation way. In this paper, on the premise of congestion status, researching of public transport and car trip mode choice model, optimizing the model, and in-depth studying about the related parameters. This paper’s main content is as follows:Firstly,residents’ travel mode choice factors should be divided into three types which include travel mode characteristics, influential factors of the trip characteristics, influential factors of the traveler characteristics. And the paper can analyze these factors by calculating data of investigation. Secondly, this paper mainly analyses traveling mode characteristics between public transport and car under traffic congestion condition from two aspects named travel speed and travel time. And the paper studied the travel circumstance of public transport and car under traffic congestion compared with the operation of public transport and car under smooth condition. Then the paper established the objective function under the congestion state of public traffic and car travel mode under the premise of the minimum about the average travel time of travelers. Then in order to meet the corresponding constraint condition,the paper will make the objective function reach the optimal solution and get the optimization of public transport and car sharing ratio under different congestion conditions. Lastly, the paper optimizes the already established travel mode choice model and receives the proportion of public transport and car travel mode after optimization In Dalian City as an example. Then the paper puts forward some practical suggestions in order to provide the basis for the construction of the beautiful and smooth Dalian.
