With the rapid development of smart grid, intelligent electronic devices(IED) have become an essential part of production management in substation, but between substation equipment of different manufacturers still have the problems like different communication interfaces and unstandardized protocols, and cannot interact. Research on testing and test methods substation IEDs is of great significance to ensure the dependability of substation communication, the current domestic and international research in this field more dependent on manual operation, low degree of systematization and poor flexibility.In this paper, according to the state of monitoring equipment in substation testing requirements, researched the mapping relations between abstract communication service interface(ACSI) of intelligent electronic devices and MMS protocol and the transmission process with Modbus protocol, gave the communication service formal description method based on finite state machine technique, and provided the corresponding test sequence generation algorithm and model transformation algorithm. Combined with software automation test scripts technology, put forward a kind of automation test framework for on-line monitoring system of substation based on PyUnit, the methods of data storage, test suite generation and test execution are given, adopted data-driven testing idea and designed a state monitoring device functional test automation test script.Finally, this paper presented the overall framework of the substation online testing platform; through the simulation of comprehensive monitoring unit(CMU) communication environment, used Modbus communication service testing as an example of the experiment, proved the feasibility of the method. Substation IEDs test methods proposed in this paper can effectively improve the efficiency of substation test, easy to systematic management, and more convenient cross software platform, which provided a train of thought for the construction of substation online test platform.
