Carbon fiber reinforced polymer (CFRP) has been widely used in reinforcement engineering because it has many advantages, like low weight、high strength、corrosion resistance and so on. Although the application and research of carbon fiber reinforced polymer (CFRP) on strengthening of concrete structures have been reported widely, there are relatively few applications and tests to steel structures, especially to steel truss. The technique of strengthening steel truss by CFRP is a new and practical type, it has an significant advantage compared with traditional methods. but theoretical analysis and experimental research in this area is obviously absent, and this technology can’t used in engineering practice. In this paper, the theoretical analysis of reinforcing steel truss with CFRP is done.In this paper, base on the data I research, the theoretical analysis and finite element analysis of reinforcing steel truss with CFRP has proposed in ABAQUS, the mainly work is listed as follow:1. We made a summary on the theoretical research、the experiment analysis and the finite element analysis on CFRP strengthening steel structure and steel truss, and made a conclusion.2. In the part of theoretical analysis, this paper firstly introduce the material properties of CFRP, steel and binder, discussed bond mechanism and influencing factors of CFRP reinforced steel structure, introduce the design recommendations of CFRP reinforced steel structure.3. In the finite element analysis, the study and analysis of reinforced H-shaped steel beam strengthened by CFRP are done, and then the author analysis the interface stress of CFRP reinforced metal beam by deflection, in the end this paper compared of the data of numerical simulation and get to conclusion. The steel truss is usually a large-span and high-loaded structure system, which may lead excessive deflection in a structure. long-term use of steel truss may occur deflection excessive, insufficient bearing capacity and other phenomena. CFRP-steel truss finite element model was proposed in ABAQUS, by comparing the data of numerical simulation, it proved that CFRP have a great effect on limiting the deflection and the bearing capacity. And made a further analysis on the factor which affect the result, include:the layers of CFRP, the Young’s modulus of CFRP, the length of CFRP and so on, get the optimal solution by the Finite Element Analysis. Based on the finite element model, the load-displacement curves, the ultimate loading and deformation of I-shaped steel truss are presented.At last, the theoretical analysis and the Finite Element Analysis of CFRP reinforced steel structure with damage are summarized, the further research direction are provided in the progress, provide the theoretical basis in engineering practice for CFRP reinforcement repair steel structure.
