| With the reform of power system, the independence and freedom of the power plant side increase greatly. Because the task of field staff is heavier, the control modes of the control system and the setting and selection of parameters are mainly tuned by debug unit and manufacturer via equipment parameters and recommended values, and some even use the debugging values of infrastructure department. Besides, the personnel who control and operate the grid rarely partake in tuning values. However,the personnel who partake in the choice and setting of parameters don’t know the requirements of the safely and stably running grid for units, and regard the safety of a unit itself as the only target, and rarely consider that the protection characteristics of the units exert an influence on the safety and stability of a grid in different operation modes after parallel operation. So, in the daily production of power system, the issues of power source coordinated with grid are receiving more and more attention.To strengthen the coordination controls and managements of the grid and units further, this paper proposes a method of automatic checking grid-related generator protections in a large-scale power system stability simulation. The method can build the models of grid-related protections and limiters based on the grid topology, the basic trend, dynamic element parameters and the values of grid-related generator protections automatically. Besides, it also can build fault sets according to different operation models automatically. So, it realizes to check the coordination relationships of grid-related generator protections and limiters, and the action behaviors of grid-related unit protections in the time-domain dynamic simulation automatically,and provides the final coordination results. The method solves the lack of a function of automatic checking grid-related generator protections in the existing power system simulation programs. In this case, grid-related generator protections can be applicable to the changing operation models, and achieve the best coordination with automatic equipments. Based on guaranteeing generator unit safety, grid-related generator protections should make full use of its dynamic adjustment ability to provide a powerful support for the safe and stable operation of the grid. |
