Research On Fish Culture Landscape In Chinese Classical Garden

From the time when the early gardens had the function of production, until the late mature period form which the gardens give priority to the art aesthetic, as one of the animal elements which can continues up to now, fish have had intimate connections with classical garden in China. Fish is not only one of the living animal elements of landscaping, but the fish culture derived from fish is also an indispensable and important component of artistic conception of landscape. The researches on the essence of fish and fish culture and their performance in classical garden in China have played an important role in understanding the meaning of the external and internal connotations of the fish culture landscape.By reading lots of relevant literatures and investigating parts of classical gardens in China, the paper sums up the final decision. It starts with the analysis of the characteristics of fish culture as landscape elements in the garden. From the perspectives of theoretical foundation, it starts with fish hunting culture and introduces the worship of fish and its significance in the origin of the character. Then it construes the relationship between fish and the aesthetics of Confucian and Taoism in the process of the original philosophy transforming to the rational philosophy in order to find out the impact of the contrast philosophy in Poetries, Chinese traditional philosophy and seclusion culture on fish culture in garden and its unique aesthetic realm. From the perspective of the development of the fish culture landscape, this paper lists the fish landscape in successive dynasties and clearly outlines the conditions of the real investigation through sorting out the development of royal garden and literati garden in accordance with the time line and provides professional foundations for the analysis of the fish culture landscape in classical garden in China. In the landscape analysis, combined with the extant literatures and document in classical garden and on-the-spot investigation, the paper classifies the collections of the garden features about fish to find their inherent laws, and searches for the cultural origins from these common characteristics in order to analyze landscape patterns which depend on this cultural elements in the landscape. In the landscape elements, this paper digs out the different types of landscape elements related with fish culture and the different processing techniques among the same landscape element, such as the garden title, construction, decoration and other garden factors. The paper combines the study of fish culture with the corresponding landscape in gardens, and mixes the concept of the humanities and the researches of Chinese classical garden in a perfect and dynamic way. The classical garden is analyzed in a new perspective, through which we can experience the charm of fish culture landscape in classical garden in China, and the author hopes this paper can provide certain reference for the relevant researches in the future.
