With the rapid increase in the number of automobiles, complete vehicle maintenance has become an important guarantee of transport security, especially for operating vehicles. Driven by interests, however, non-standard phenomena still exist in current vehicle maintenance market, such as jerry-building maintenance process, illegal trade of completion certificate or even counterfeit ones. Although there have been some domestic supervision system of vehicle maintenance, these systems tend to be expensive and comp lex in installation and troubleshooting in practice, therefore not widely applied. The purpose of this thesis is to apply the mobile internet technology into the vehicle maintenance system. It will not only satisfy user needs, but also helps supervise and standardize vehicle maintenance market effectively.Using methods of software engineering, based on fully understanding of the features of vehicle maintenance industry, this thesis makes a comprehensive requirements analysis. It then designs the overall architecture of this mobile management system of vehicle maintenance based on XMPP. It also gives the detailed design and specific implementation scheme of core components in the system.This system includes two terminals, Web application and Android application. Two core features are provided in this system. Firstly, it records and formats electronic archives of vehicle maintenance by information technology means. Secondly, it provides security features in the management of completion certificates. We can easily identify certification authenticity by scaning the QR code with appropriative application.There are several innovations applied in this system, as follows:First, we implements the basic cloud infrastructure at the server side by using Erlang and XMPP, which proves to obtain good flexibility, extensibility, and ability to support high concurrency.Second, Using XMPP and RPC technology makes resources interconnecting under any network structure. Each XMPP node can be either service consumer or service provider.Third, introducing the QR code in anti-counterfeiting function can effectively avoid il egal behaviors such as fake or profiteer completion certificates.At last, effectively guarantee the system’s security and robustness by several means, includeing GPS location verification, e-signature, setting shortest maintenance time limit, key data backup and encryption.After a small scale trial, this system has been proved to comply with the design goal basically. The combine of mobile internet technology and vehicle maintenance is a new management means for government. It brings positive significance for further strengthening vehicle maintenance management, improving the quality of vehicle maintenance and clearing responsibilities in maintenance quality accident.
